I remember my first bike too. It was a used Schwinn 26, inch wheels, I was barely able to put my feet on the ground with out hurting myself *winks*.
I was so proud of that thing I went to the local Western Auto store and bought a can of silver spray paint, and gave it several coats. I traded a buddy of mine for the pullback handle bars, and I...er...kinda...found a dark blue Bananna seat. A friend of my stepdad had a garage and he built me a 3 foot tall sissy bar (that I painted silver).
I put many miles on that sucker before I was able to trade up to a new model with 3 speeds.

Yes I remember my first bike too. It was a deep purple and had a banana seat with big 70's looking flowers in lime greens , blues & purple. I was devastated by it. I was such a tomboy and was too embarassed to ride it around for fear of being laughed at. Eventually, however, I did like you Roger, and made some upgrades to it...starting with pulling off those streamers from the handlebars & ditching the basket which mateched the pattern of the banana seat.
**smiling just thinking about it**

Ahhhhhhh the old clickers. I believe I was backhanded for clicking in the car once. *lmao* I wonder who thought of them **looking at Roger** and why parents would even buy them only to be driven nuts....I do remember getting a clicker or two from a n old mart that I used to walk to when we lived in TN.

They were Click Clacks, if you did it right (which I couldn't), they would click each other and bounce apart, If you were good they would bounce hard enough to click and bounce and clack on the top...
...thats not very plain is it?
